  1. Claris Home Page Lite Template Documents

  3. Claris Home Page Lite includes a number of templates
  4. for use in small business, home, personal and
  5. education contexts. Each of the documents is
  6. easily customizable by replacing the text with
  7. your own information. Whether you would like to
  8. build your own personal Web page, publish your
  9. organization's newsletter, put your business on
  10. the Web or simply create a calendar, these
  11. templates can be your building blocks. Many of
  12. the templates have notes that will guide you on
  13. what types of information to use and where to
  14. place the information.

  16. The templates include a number of different
  17. styles, such as Natural or School. There are
  18. also a number of Web site examples such as the
  19. Presentation Template. In this folder, you will
  20. find the necessary files to create a
  21. presentation. In the Small Bus Example there is
  22. an example of a company's Web site, including
  23. ideas on how to present your company or
  24. organization on the Web.

  26. Within the Styles folder, you will find a number
  27. of styles, each with Web sites with the various
  28. design elements. For example, if you like the
  29. Stone style, you can use it to build a newsletter
  30. or a company site. You can build your personal
  31. page to match and include a calendar too! Do this
  32. by simply replacing the text in the templates
  33. with your own.

  36. TIPS
  37. ------------------------------------------------
  38. 1) All images for the templates are contained in
  39. an Images folder.  It is good practice to do this,
  40. especially if you plan to upload your files to a
  41. server. As you customize the templates, you may
  42. want to add more images. Make sure they are inside
  43. the same images folder within the site folder.

  45. 2) Adding pages is easy. Do this by copying one of
  46. the template pages whose layout you would like to
  47. follow. You can change the Document Title of the
  48. page in the Document Options dialog box.

  50. 3) As you work with your Web page, you may want
  51. to choose Document Statistics from the Edit menu
  52. to see how long the download time is estimated for
  53. your Web page. If it gets too large (over 20
  54. seconds), it is less likely that the viewers will
  55. wait for it to download and they'll probably move
  56. onto another page.
